Dorina is the name of a beautiful artistic Bulgarian woman who survived the "machine" of the State Security after 1944. In another life, she has been involved in charity - on a remote island in the Indian Ocean for 24 years. The director Atanas Kiryakov was intrigued by this interesting woman after reading a commemorative letter about her from Petar Uvaliev, the same thing that inspired other teams with materials on the subject ... Dorina Nenchova Ilieva was a beautiful Bulgarian with artistic talent. She participated in the shooting of an unfinished Bulgarian-Hungarian film, from which materials were even preserved in the Film Library. After September 9, 1944, Dorina's family was harassed by the Communists. Her father Nencho Ililev was also an artist - a bohemian, a fan of women and art, in relations with the rich and powerful of the day, but concerned about the poor. This ideal image of him has remained in his daughter's memory of the story described in her autobiography. One day Nencho Iliev was taken from his home without ever returning. At the time, Dorina had an affair with British diplomat Simpson and was therefore punished by the services. She was even forced to sign that she would "bring". The Englishman managed to get Dorina out of Bulgaria, but he himself was also punished by his British services - with demotion and reassignment to the colonial territories. The Simpsons settled on the island of Mauritius, where for 24 years Dorina Simpson has been charitable - creating hospitals for disadvantaged children, women with mental health problems, people affected by hurricanes… She turned her home into a center of different races. She died in 1991.
* This film by director Atanas Kiryakov is dedicated to Dorina Ilieva-Smipson, as well as the "Ballerina Case" by Petya Tetevenska and Nadezhda Uzunova, broadcast in "Theme of Nova" (on Nova TV), as well as many sensational editions and publications in different media, at the same time.
